Default EQEmu 3.4 problems plz read

Alright, I have the new EQ patch but I backed up my latest folder just in case... the problem is I don't know which version was in the old folder. Im pretty sure its in the vacinity of the 9-24-02 update, but I downloaded from 3.10 ( The newest version I believe ) down to 3.4 and 3.4 allowed me to not only log in, but I didn't receive the *1017 Unable to join game* error when I hit Play. So I got to the character creation area, and no matter what character I make it crashes out to the world select screen before I even make it in. So I exit out and read one of the DOS which loaded the zone up and it reads as such:

Map: Maps\grobb.map not found.
ZoneID = 52
Reading zhdr file './cfg/grobb.cfg'
Zone safe coords are x = 0; y = -100; z = 5

Im running on Windows XP... Should I go up or down a few Emu generations (im not exactly sure which version of EQ i have, but its the one with Luclin in the background so that has to be good I never have used the EQAdmin.exe tool either, but I seen where someone else used it and it "somehow" fixed his problem...btw my boot5zones looks like this:

@echo off
start zoneNT . 157.182.***.** 7995 157.182.***.**
start zoneNT . 157.182.***.** 7996 157.182.***.**
start zoneNT . 157.182.***.** 7997 157.182.***.**
start zoneNT . 157.182.***.** 7998 157.182.***.**
start zoneNT . 157.182.***.** 7999 157.182.***.**
exit
cls

Everything else is OK... just curious on why I cant zone in!
Any help would be great, thanks alot

You will have to use the DB, and minilogin for 3.4 Your bound to have lots of problems that won't be duplicatable by anyone else.

Not much of an anwser I know, but oh well.

Minilogin 3.4 didn't come in the zip file. I'm currently using 3.6 Minilogin... can someone by chance post a link for 3.4... I didn't spot it on the Files page.

Thanks.

If world and minilogin aren't giving errors, you might be ok using 3.6

Default Suggestion

I had a similar issue (although my last patch was September 24-28 - eqgame.exe is last modified on the 27th), and the thing that fixed it for me: Not loading 0.3.4 ;-p

Last night, I loaded the following:
(I have the latest MySQL)

0.3.9 EQEMU
0.3.9 DB Addon (forgot where I picked it up)
0.3.9.1 Minilogin

I then dropped (Read: Completely blank-slated) my eq sqldb and created a new one, sourcing the db.sql and the addons.

My config is pretty much default, using my real IP address (on 98 you can find it with start > run > winipcfg) as the IP address instead of localhost or 127.0.0.1

After a couple attempts to connect (Datarate was fussy ;-p) I finally created my level 60 'chanter with Epic and a full set of Vex Thal equipment. I then decided to attack the guards. ;-p

Tonight... Well, I'll find something fun I can do tonight. However, I did find that under the new UI - I played around with my coins and got booted (found out via the zone program's on-screen info that there was some sort of desync when it comes to money...)

Default Then try this...

Whenever you go back a version, wipe the SQL db and the eqemu dir (or use a different eqemu dir and SQL db) - Ya never know...

Alright... another tip - check your EQ logs. dbg.txt in the EQ dir

When I got the "zot" to server select, I checked it - got an error "corrupt pc" - that tells me there is a version mismatch.

Oh, and play with Datarate. I used 7.5 for the datarate, and it connected w/o the BSOD (Black Screen of Disconnection)

Aye I checked the .txt file and found this line:

[Thu Oct 24 16:03:53 2002]00292:ERROR: Corrupt PC [2], disconnecting.

Grrr, lol

I do think I know the problem...

I think my brother must have gotten on my laptop last weekend when I went home and either half assed updated my Everquest folder or updated it completely, so that would have been as of Oct 19, 2002...

See I got my College PC and laptop and my college one, I updated my Everquest (Noooo!) then I was like hey my laptop has the old one but im not sure what all my brother did when I came home with it last weekend.

Thanks alot for tryin to help me Shingen
