Default EQClassic download version?

Does anyone know what version of EQ is in the eqfull download on the Sony FTP? I downloaded it to try EQ out, but I'm getting 1002'd.

If this is my login/pass being new as a problem, that could be it, I think I registered maybe 4 or 5 hours ago.

I'm basically wondering if the version I have is too old or too new.. [should I run everquest.exe and update and hope that version works with EQEmu's loginserver, or should I wait till the loginserver is updated?]

I read the readme/faq, and by the way, the link for the template is 404'd, along with another one near it. Can't recall what though. Just opened everything useful in that post in a new tab, heh.

I created another copy of the folder, updated, and got the same result.

The EQfull you are talking about is the EQ Classic.... the first CD of EQ. You need to run the everquest.exe to patch it (then press advanced and select all options except language) so you will be upto date and able to play.

Otherwise .... GO BUY IT. Damn it's just 60 $ for the full version now, as any other game !

I know it's the first CD. I patched it, and I'm still 1002'd to EQEmu's loginservers.

I'm not gonna go buy a game the developer/creator is hosting for download for free. Especially a game I'm not even sure I'm gonna play.

Well, it still doesn't work with EQW, but it works via the patchme method.

I can't figure out why, but I'm not gonna worry. :P
