cant get eq to work

I just bought eq today and i installed it changed the settings tried EQW but got black screen after check yes/no tried the patch me method but it still patches so i stop it becouse it says not to let it patch i got eqemu patcher but it says it performs an illegal op i have windows xp and it says eq is version 1.0.25 if anyone can help pls let me know through board thanks.

If you just installed Everquest you need to patch it from the real everquest servers, without everquest.exe (should be on your desktop)

Once you patched from EQlive, download EqPatcher.

Then install EqPatcher in your everquest directory (should be c:\program files\everquest\) .

Then run patch.exe from there, it will patch your everquest folder for EQemu servers.

Once its patched you have 2 choices :

1) run EQW (warning dont check the checkbox Run patch program) 2.3 (2.35 will not work (last version))
