Default Questions regarding zones+

What is the minimum requirement for running EQemu? Or for running both the emu and the client on the same machine for that matter?

Also, I'm fuzzy on how the zone system works. I know running the Boot5zones.bat makes the zones accessible but when I ran it, it opened like 15 zones and made my system crawl when I tried running the Everquest client. Do ALL of those zones need to be running? ....and if I'm running a few zones but want access to one not currently available what will happen?

I appreciate your time. THX.

Default oh, and...

...I'm also curious and I know next to nothing about MySQL... Is there a way, once I have the database built from all the sql source files, to export a single SQL file so that installation on another machine or reinstallation can be made easier?

If you want to run a server for other people to access you have to have one zone up for every zone that a person might be in, which means you'd want as many zones up as there are normally going to people playing on your server. The boot5zones.bat has been edited to load 15 zones but hasn't been renamed, to change it you can right click on teh file, click edit, and delete some of the lines, tehn just save the changes. If you are going to be the only person who plays on your server (i.e. if you are planning to use minilogin) then you shouldn't need more than one zone server running but two would be a good idea just for a bit of a buffer. Other than that I really don't know what to tell you about system requirements.

As far as SQL goes... get a copy of MySQL-Front... Once you figure it out you can select a database (e.g. database "eq") and then click on the "Export Tables" button and export the entire database to a single *.sql file that you should be able to use later on.
