Point ALL ips to your host computer's network ip address, should be fine.

Hmmmm....tried that and it didn't work. I'm gonna offer some specs and maybe you can answer a few simple questions.

I have 3 desktops and 1 laptop sharing a cable modem via a Linksys router. The router acts as the internet gateway, so none of the computers has to serve as a host. I have no hub or switch, just the router.

I am successfully running Minilogin on one of the desktops (main). Should the other 3 also be running minilogin with all pointing to the (main) IP?

Also, does minilogin support only 1 computer or can the entire network share 1 account (eqemu)?

In any event, when I set it up this way, I get error 1017 cannot login on the other 3 computers.

I updated the router firmware and enabled port forwarding. I'm just stumped.

Not to make things more complicated, but I thought this might be connected....I cannot login to my own server on any of my computers. I have no trouble logging into other servers. In other words, I'm getting into gotfrags just fine, I'm just not getting info back. I'm thinking it may have something to do with a firewall or other security issues. Is this making sense to anyone?

is your file sharing working on your lan? just curious, but anyways, make sure every computer besides the host has eqhost pointed to the host's ip, I dunno if you mean that the host has no different lan ip address then the others, if that's the case, have every eqhost point to your IP address, or 127.0.0.1 then run minilogin, world, howevermanyzonesyougot, on 1 computer, and have the rest just connect using eqemu // eqemu, try it if it made sense ^_^

Ya, file sharing is working perfectly. And....thanks much, I'm gonna give it a try. You made me think of a few ideas.

Still not working...same old 1017 error when choosing the server at the server select screen. The problem seems to be with minilogin. I keep getting the message:

new client IP address
client disconnected

The world and bootzones are unchanged during this process.

Here is what I have for eqhost.txt for the 3 comps.

[Registration Servers]
{
"main comp IP:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"main comp IP:5999"
}

I am starting to think that minilogin supports only 1 computer at a time and not 1 shared account.

make sure login port in loginserver.ini is 5999 I run minilogin for my lan all the time.

PS: Don't remember if minilogin is like 5997 now, open it and see what port it looks for, not at home, can't check mine.

Ya, minilogin looks for port 5999. My loginserver.ini points to port 5999. I'm not sure why there is a problem connecting. I can get out to most servers, I just can't get back in. (ie I can get out to gotfrags but I can't get back into my own server and others can't either.) That's why I'm thinking firewall. My Lan is not allowing access for some reason, even to those on my network. I'm obviously not a Lan expert, but I'm investigating the cause. Thanks for all the help Baron.

ONLY localhost or 127.0.0.1 works with minilogin. dont bother trying to use minilogin on a LAN, network or over the internet to let friends on. only you can play.

The thread Shawn319 is referring to as at http://forums.eqemu.net/showthread.p...;threadid=1044

In it, I've posted the setup I'm using (complete with copies of all of the relevant configuration files). It works fine for me on my LAN with that setup. I'll be glad to help anyone out in any way I can to get them up and running.
