How do you know the login server is up ? I can't login either, nor ping the login server from two ISPs, nor login to IRC, so I would assume it is down, or unreachable from my two ISPs (in the UK). Not that I am complaining ... I will just try again tomorrow or the next day

Are you using the old login servers or the new?

IRC has been up all day, but one of the IRC servers went down, so maybe that has been why you were unable to connect to IRC.

The login server for 5997 (0.5.0) has been up all day as far as I know. I've seen people logging into the beta server all day.

There have been reports that 5999 (0.4.4) went down, but I am unable to verify this.

I am using

[Registration Servers]
{
"24.174.184.4:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"24.174.184.4:5997"
}

and been getting error 1001 all evening, worked fine yesterday. Maybe just a local problem ...

Code:
% host eqlogin1.eqemulator.net
eqlogin1.eqemulator.net is an alias for lethalencounter.serveftp.com.
lethalencounter.serveftp.com has address 24.174.184.4

http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9930

http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9950

I read well,

[Registration Servers]
{
"24.174.184.4:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"24.174.184.4:5997"
}

is equivalent to

[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}

I got my eqhost.txt during the 'transition' when Hogie quit and before the DNS got updated.

Like I suggested, it was a local problem, to me, i.e. a couple of UK ISPs, I tried another and now I can connect.

I know a lot of people post on this board without reading, but I am, not one

No hard feelings, I hope
