Default Version Change

I was wondering if there was a way to manually change the eq client version, because if there was a way then it would not really matter if a new update came out and you patched your files by mistake...all you would have to do then would trick the server into beliveing that the client was of that version.

I doubt it is that easy ... I am thinking there are some major differences in the client/server protocol between EQemu 4.4 and 5.0 and their corresponding Sony versions. No doubt a friendly Dev will give you the 'official' word on this shortly

Changing what version the server thinks you have will not fix those problems.

The change from pre-Aug26 to after the patch (for 0.5.0) was pretty major on the communication level. Your client would not understand the info from the server and the server would not understand your client. You'd get disconnected almost immediately.
