Scheduled patch for June 5th, just letting everyone know.DO NOT patch unless you are sure the EQEmu will work with it, which I doubt it will. |

Anyway this can be put in about 2-inch high letters? DO NOT PATCH ON THE 5th OR YOUR EQEMU WILL NOT WORK!

Maybe then people will understand. |

				 Patch
With all the changes they are making to EQ (GUI, venders and such) will you guys be adding any new content or are you going to concentrate on cracking/utilizing the added features?
IF you concentrate on just staying current with sony, it'd give the Database designers time to catch up.

Also it'd give people some time to look at the source code and maybe develope some better formulas, like combat damage, spell damage, etc.

it probably will break the server. like its been said before, dont patch it, the easiest way is to run the game with the patchme command. It totally skips the interface
 C:\myeq\eqgame.exe patchme

If this patch is the one from the test server, it crashes EQGame.exe when it loads the server list when you log in. Besides that I'm not really sure if it breaks anything else in game, but I would guess it does if it breaks that =). |

Stealth Patch as of May 30
Today, they patched eqmain.dll without warning.
The goal seems to be stopping EQW to work, maybe more, but I don't think so. More info here:
http://www.hackersquest.org/boards/viewtopic.php?t=1710
That's also I think why it says uncorrect Version To kiliriana. Sigh, Now, I'm screwed, don't have the old version anymore lying around =(.

Hope it helps some people.

Probably too late for many people, but...

 1) only patch when the emu is updated...

2a) backup the whole EQ directory
skipping all *.eff *.s3d *.m3d *.xmi and *.dat files should be ok

2b) or backup the most troublesome files
DO NOT ASK FOR THESE FILES!
 eqgame.exe
 eqmain.dll
 eqgfx_dx8.dll
 eqspell.dat
 eqhost.txt

There may be another one that usually causes trouble when it changes. Your odds of not having trouble increase for each file you back up

DO NOT ASK FOR THESE FILES!

After I patched and ran EQW, I could not use the keyboard. Rebooted computer (since it had been on a while and might have been acting up,) tried again, and no luck. Then started up EQ through the patcher, and it worked ok. Seems to be the eqmain.dll that is causing the problem seeing as the other files were TXT files. Will see if I can do a bit-for-bit comparison of the 2 eqmain.dll files to see what they did. |
