Getting patch to work with GoD
I just got EverQuest working with the Emu past the Feb 10th GoD patch. You can download everything - all files from the patch and all expansions and complete file check etc. So long as you have a backup of eqgame.exe from Feb 9th or earlier, you're fine.
I just patched and replaced the new folder with my old eqgame.exe and it works - been playing for hours on my own MiniLogin server using it. have latest CVS (as of around 5 minutes ago). Compiled with Dev-C++ including Perl.
If anyone has a copy of their eqgame.exe EQEmu *will* still work if you restore it, even fi you have all the new content GoD files.
I imagine this means not a lot changed code-wise except some new/changed OP_CODES. Which should mean a fix fairly soon, hopefully!

No, I still suggest you don't patch. But if you did patch but happen to have an old copy of eqgame.exe, you're in luck

Does your particular server have it's own forum? That's how I got mine fixed, from knowledgable fellow players.

Hey, that's great. I'm glad that you were able to get it to work.. BUT, SSSHHH. Don't need to be talking about it on these forums..... Read the many other posts where people have asked for file. Shouldn't be asking for them or discussing how to get them unless that person already has a back up of it..... Still happy for you though

Actually, if you read ths post you'll see I said if you already have a backup of the file. Didn't say you should download or ask for it....

Sorry, should have specified who I was talking to. That was for holycanolli. I was implying that if you have your own back up, you're good to go. Just not to ask for it or discuss how to get it here if you don't have it.

Also note that the UI changed a bit as well, so for people that patched and reverted to the older eqgame.exe character creation will be very difficult (if not immpossiable but I am not UI wiz). If you restore your old UI directory it will fix the problem.
