Default Endless Zoning

I have done a search here for my issue, but it appears mine might be a bit more unique issue.

Occasionally when I zone, I don't crash, I don't LD, I just never get to the other side. It hangs on my screen in limbo forever. I could walk away and check on dinner and its still sitting there 10-15 minutes later. I run on cable internet at the 5MBPS down/1.5MBPS up speed. I do not have a dual core AMD processor so I don't think its that internet issue. Unless the single core has same problem? We run though a router.

At first I thought it was only happening on certain servers, but it appears to be happening at random on any of the servers I join. Sometimes it happens with every zone in, & sometimes it never happens. I can't leave my screen so I have to hit the X and restart.

Operating System: Windows 2000 Professional (5.0, Build 2195) Svc Pack 4
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: MSI
System Model: MS-6712
BIOS: Version 1.00
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) , ~1.3GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Page File: 297MB used, 2677MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

It happens when you experience the half-disconnect bug and then zone. Just close down EQ and re-open.

Default No that does not fix it

I can shut down the computer, wait a few days, and when I log in that character, I am still in zone limbo.

If you log off and back on and are having a problem immediately when you log in, it is probably another problem than the one originally reported in this post.

If you are playing on my server, it may be due to the anti-MQ code I recently added. I have the zone detection disabled, but it seems to still be doing some kinda zone checks. If that is the case, you can't fix it by simply logging off. You can only fix it by having your character moved. I added the PEQ Character Mover tool to my server so you can move any stuck characters without GM intervention. Check my forums in my sig for the link to the mover.

If you aren't playing on my server, then you will probably want to create another character and petition to get your stuck character moved. Make sure to mention the character name and what problem you are having in the petition.
