Character Select Issue
I've been using EQEmu for awhile and I just updated to 0.3.3.1 and set up a permanent server for web stuff, especially the emu. Only problem is, I go to log on to MY server and it returns to the server select screen after I choose my character. I have made the same character as well as others on other people's servers with no problems. I look at my world.exe and 5 zone programs and none of them have errors: just that <MY_NAME> has logged on, then "Client disconnected." Can anyone help?

0.3.3.1 requires an older patch (i think from May 8th). 0.3.4 is the only version that supports the current EQ patch (well current as of June 12th). but 0.3.4 is AS-IS and was released to get everyone off our backs about a release date.

Spells loaded from 'spdat.eff'.
Loading guild ranks...done.
Loading faction data...done.
Connected to worldserver: <MY_IP>:9000

I have same exact problem... None of the dev seem to really have a solution... You using win xp? If you are best thing I can think of is try on another os or ur basically screwed till they decide to fix it. Been like this for me ever since I used it which was in 3.3. I basically giving up on eqemu till they can fix this, probably best thing for you to do too

I've had these problems in 0.3.3.1 as well and yes, I do use Windows XP. Scary thing is, I have tried using my permanent server running Windows NT to run the program as well as my home PC running XP. I have also tried using my 2 home PCs as clients w/ EQ installed (one has Win98, other has WinXP as said before) and still same types of errors on the server. Nothing works!!

Well the add loot drop errors are probably cause you used the first release of my DB or item converter. I originally had a bug that made almost all items invalid :( But it is fixed now at least. That shouldn't affect crashing though.
I have run mysql and the emu 3.3.1 and 3.4 on ME and 2k and had consistant results. I can play, but zoning crashes every time, and spell effects are wrong. I just installed XP on another computer, so I'll be trying that soon.

Well, does anyone know of any database that works with 3.4? Or maybe, Lurker, if I have used your old copy, where might I find the new release?

Finally logged in using default DB. 2 minor problems:
1) I get error that eqmessages does not exist
2) Whenver I log in, I join a group with no one (except a bunch of random characters on my group window)
I'm trying to fix this myself, but I'm not that knowledgable with SQL. I heard stuff about eqmessages somewhere, anyone know how to fix it?

[B]Give this a try for the EQMessages table:
Code:
CREATE TABLE EQMessages (
id int(11) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,
recip varchar(64) NOT NULL,
sender varchar(64) NOT NULL,
subject varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',
body text NOT NULL default '',
date date NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (id)
) TYPE=MyISAM;
I think that is all the fields, and reasonable field sizes

A fixed version of the DB I released is in the worldbuilders forum, under the same thread.
The group thing is really wierd. try deleting your char and recreating it.

Lurker, I'm really sorry I keep bothering you about this, but you have the only interesting-sounding DB for 0.3.4. I have not found another link on your DB thread, but have tried to download the file on the first post with leads the same errors as above, I'm probably downloading the same file. If anyone has a direct link to Lurker's *new* DB, please help a guy out. Thanks.

I know your not downloading the wrong file from my post, cause I only have the one on the ftp site.
The first post here is what you want. Be sure your not using an old copy of the DB in mysql, or sourcing the older copy of the sql file.
open mysql
mysql> drop database [your DB name];
mysql> create database [your DB name];
mysql> use [your DB name];
mysql> source Lurker_eq34_dump.sql;

Arggggg
Still getting the same errors, and I'm sure I have Lurker's new DB. Could it be my OS? Has anyone gotten version 0.3.4 w/ Lurker's DB to work on either Windows NT 4, XP Pro, or 98 SE because those are all of the ones I've tried so far. Here is all my data in case anyone sees another error...
Code:

I found out the problem: Lurker's DB has a NPC loot in the Greater Faydark (where my character was). I had to start in another location, so I chose half elf (its almost a wood elf) and Surefall Glade loaded perfectly.
