Flickering only during multiple sessions

Everquest runs fine whenever I play only one instance of it, but whenever I open up a second window, it flickers with odd, blocky/staticy graphics. It seems like a rendering issue, and everything I've tried so far to fix it has been unsuccessful.

Could anyone lend me some insight on what the problem might be?

I guess we start out by posting your hardware, since that's the only thing I can really think of that might be a problem

Do you mean flickering as in;

sometimes the world-plane vanishes, and all you can see is like, mobs, torches, and other PC's? And it flickers on and off, depending on where you're looking.

I have that happen on occasion, even when running only one session of EQ. Relogging seems to fix it, zoning doesn't.
