Off and on I'm working on it, I'm liking how it's looking. The server is *down* currently due to the massive patch update that's going to be put out. It'll be on our forums. In which we are bumping the server from Alpha to Beta. As we should have Balance active. Sadly, the Samurai is giving us issues... We want him to be a bursty slag, but the burst to stop after so long of bursting, if that made sense. Lol.
As well, when we get the server live, there will be logs posted on our website of what everyone's DPS is, using R I, R II, R III and R Elite spells.

While working on the patch, we are going to turn the server on, but have it locked from public access.

We've added Balance spells to our website! This will give you an inside example of what to expect from the Balance faction. -- I'm off to spend time with family and stuff...

I sure hope everyone Christmas break, and New Years was good, and I hope you all have some killer resolutions made! =).
We're back in swing. I'm not entirely sure what Jahar's schedule looks like, but for the most part, I'll be back 100% doing items, quests, and such. I'll be posting back on here again when the server will be unlocked for players to test, shouldn't be to much longer. I have to make spells, finish Epic 1.0 quest, and re-arrange a few things in Tier 1, then we should be good to go. =D.

Click here to see what needs to be done before server opens up again.
Just what the link says, I've updated a post on our forums of what need to be done before we can go live again.
With current... Situations, I'm doing it by myself, Jahar is busy IRL and so is Psepheryx. It'll be up, and hopefully quick. Check back whenever I'll make sure to keep it up to date.

I'm pretty upset. I turned on my Computer this morning and randomly it was like; 'Hey you have a corrupted file, you have to reformat' after fighting with it, restarting in safe mode it telling me the same thing, over and over and over again. I figured whatever, thinking I had Uthra backed up on my second computer, well good news is, I did have it backed up... From the first day I worked on it... So, all of the Epics, Weapons, Chars, literally EVERYTHING I did with the server is now gone... I'm retiring the project as if I start to do it again, re-balancing, and going over everything I had went over before, I'd strangle someone, probably myself...
Instead. I'm going back to an idea that I had a while ago, that the Alpha idea is still in my inbox of my Gmail account, I put the idea on the back burner when I started talking with Jahar, I've talked my idea over with Jahar, and we're going to go ahead and proceed with it.
If a moderator sees this post, please take it down. As Uthra is no longer a working project. =(.

lol.
What admin doesn't do dailies?
You could have simply taken the disc, and connected it VIA sata to usb and you could recover your database easily.

Or you could not be such a complete ass. He specifically stated he thought he had backups.
Making fun of others hardships makes you such a big man.

^. I half expected a response like that out of someone, at least it's Maze. =P
As well, Maze. I did have back-ups, and did back-ups daily on the computer that crashed. It was only a matter of time before it did, honestly. I tend to re-back everything up after a month or so, and place it on a disk, or thumb drive, or something to the similar. I for some reason, didn't with Uthra. The server was awesome, and was an awesome idea and all, but losing commitment from the person whom server was their idea (She got a job, and kids became more of a hassle then previously mentioned), and Jahar being busy all the time like he was. I was working on a server that I really didn't have an *input* on, because I didn't know exactly what she wanted done, nor did I see how she wanted it done. I blame no one but myself that I had to scrap Uthra.
This project we have in the works though, is MY server. It isn't Jahar's idea, it isn't Psepheryx's idea. It's MY idea, so I won't be running into any brick walls, or snags, or snares, I'll be able to focus purely on the aspects of the server I feel fit. If there's to long of a cool down, I can change that without explaining to someone 'Hey I feel this should be changed because of X reason.' I can just be like; 'Boom, changed.'
I've learned from my time DEVing that there is no I in team, however if someone has an idea on a server and they are so concrete on it, and won't let up for ANY reason at all, you have to find a way to appease them, a majority of the time it's better working alone, so you don't hit this snag, however if you're much like me, you hate working alone, and will ask anyone to help you. Jahar and Psepheryx are still my team, and they will be helping with whatever they can, along with their suggestions. I feel this new project is just for the better, in the long run.

Ah even doing dailies doesn't always help.
Shame to hear you had those issues.

More importantly, even if you do a daily backup make sure you have multiple levels of backups. You could get a hacker in over time, they are normally very patient. If you do not have backups offsite also, you are playing with fire. I do a daily full backup of both servers but also email just the necessary characters tables to a separate gmail account, I developed a script to do this a long time ago. If a hacker gets to my compressed backups, at least the email backups are out there and I could recreate the server from that. In the future I would also like to add a removable backup to the server as a last resort or maybe something that will do a block level copy of the vSphere host, but that will have to come after tax season
Does anyone know if you can email files to a Dropbox account? That would also be a another great level to backing up, you could shoot just the character level SQL's over to a Dropbox, a third layer of protection.

I setup MySql master->Slave replication and SVN server, had a robocopy script that would svn commit.
When I did that I was just playing around with methods to backup stuff locally.
You could probably setup a script to push your backups to some cloud based storage. I wouldn't know for sure. Don't use any of that myself.
