Default Quest & Zone Point Set Up Question

Not much information is given how to use the database and its all pretty much all self explainitory but I cannot for the life of me get them working.

What do I need in each field for the quest to work correctly?
Simple Quest - hand in a head to guard bob and get 5sp
cant hail him to trigger it and cant just give him item for the quest /shrug dosnt work

zoneing - Trying to connect zone but the some work and others dont do I have to have same exact locations as the live eq?

thanks

I haven't tried adding any quests so can't help you with that.
However with zone points, as far as I know, they only work if there is also a "hard-coded" zone point built into the zone (such as the one from South to North Qeynos) as well as one in the EQEmu database. Zone points that are only in the database don't work at all, and hard-coded ones without a DB equivalent produce a "this zone is currently down" message.
The DB zone point doesn't need to be in the exact same location as the hard-coded one, just connecting the same zones.
