Default Noob question - setting up my own server

With the recent events, I'm worried that all the emu servers will disappear. I think the answer is no, but can I download a specific server database and run it offline?

I've done this before but I believe it was vanilla EQ, can I download something like Lazarus and play offline?

Sorry for the noobery.

As long as you have it setup to run locally, they cant shut you down or anything.

Now every server's database is their own.

Project EQ is the standard database recommendation. Makes a very excellent base, as they have been tuning it for over a decade.

Quarm and TAKP also share databases, but they run on a very old client.

You'll have to do some research and see if Lazarus shares it's database and custom quests / code.
