Default A Few Questions for a Noob to EQ and EQ Emu...

Ok First thing i have to say is that i'm not new to Online games... i have been playing Ultima Online for about 2 years and am thinking of playing EQ. One thing that i dont like is the idea of paying the mopney to play on the "main" server. I'm guessing Eq Emu has a server simulator so you can simulate a server for a local or internet sharing use am i right?

Well first question what are the rough requirements for EQ as in he computer hardware, it may not be for me. I only have a 56K modem, but UO played quite happily, but then again it wasnt 3D :p !!

Second Question. Have other players already made their own servers that I could use. I have my own UO server and play on others and this is why i play UO due to i dont believe you should buy a game for almost $100 and have to pay to play. Anywayz...

Third Question. How would i go about creating my own server. I have experience with servers from UO so i'm sure i could adapt and learn EQ's rather quickly and/or easily.

Ty for you time and consideration in advance.

Sorry for such a long post, really i am!

EQ,for the old world models and textures does not requires that much.56k modems work fine, you might go ld a few times but that it(Well also a lot during raids if you don't turn spell effects off,but you won't be going on raids for awhile).

Personally I thin you should play EQ first, its fun your first while playing when you're a n00b and all thoe crappy items might seem really good to you and 100 plat i like SO RICH.Hacking items and stuff at the begining, prolly be a lot like Diablo 1,it would get bored after awhile cause there is no room for upgrade.

God, I remember my first 100 plat, my first Exe Hood, and my first Ykesha sword (spent all of my saved plat on it, got the second one later camping it myself).

Honestly, you need to play the game on either a free server with natural upgrades, or pay to play regular EQ for a while. Freedom means absolutely nothing if you've never experienced constraint.
