Default What's the point...

What, exactly, is the point of using the Mini Login- you are the only one who can log on to the server right? So you would be the only one to play it. If that is the truth- what is the point because you al ready know everything about it if you made it...

Correct me if I'm wrong, by all means please...

Lust lemme know cause I'm a little confused on the whole manner....

thanks

I think personally it's good if you're just going to do some dev work on the emu, that way you don't ahve people logging in all the time, getting kicked out cause you're restarted zone servers a lot, etc.

And you don't have to log into got frags to get to your server. I've heard people have gotten their mini logins to work for multiple clients though...

you can. up to a point. you cant have more than 8 players on same time which is numbers of charactors you can have per account. everyone shares account of eqemu, but dont log on same char as someone else tho.

For a singleplayer experiance. I plan on creating the Ultimate Single Player EQ. Once the Emu has a better AI and quests and such I will start working on AI controlled Players and make the game feel like its alive. Newbies in the fields that despawn after a certain time and repop in anther zone as a higher level. Im in working stages of creating a Single Player EQ although playing with friends will be just as fun and the world will feel filled out and not alone.

I always add that it is for a private server -- i.e. local, internal network. Maybe someone has tried it out with Internet access, but it's not recommended even if it works because you only have one account with eqemu/eqemu. Not really hard to crack.

Minilogin is not the recommend way to go. It's better to setup for a loginserver-- right now gotfrags --unless you really need the restrictions of the mini for development or because you are paying for Internet connect charges.
