Waste of Time...

The login bug makes playing on any EQEmu server a complete waste of time. Sooner or later you will be unable to to zone/log, either crashing to desktop or just hanging and being dumped to server select screen.

What's the point?

This has ended up happening to me with every single character I have created (regardless of class/race/server).

i have the same problem, i ended up quitting eq again. If it ever gets fixed ill be back .

When are people going to understand that this project is not perfect? Every program has its bugs, if people don't like it then leave. They are working their asses off for each and every release, its not easy. If you think you can do it, then do it! Just don't come here and whine, just leave, like you will be forgotten anyways.

*edit* And guess what, you have both not been here for a month yet. Glad you wasn't here over a year ago, there was no such thing as a loginserver, I would of hated to see your whines then. Oh, there was also no zoning, no spawns, no quests (couldn't even make em).

So the FREE EQ emulator that people are putting their time into developing for FREE is a waste of your time? If you time is so precious I would suggest shelling out the $13.00 a month to play on live and leave the good folks here, having fun, exploring and experimenting alone.

I realise that EQEmu is still in the testing phase, and is far from complete.

I was merely stating a fact, not complaining - a warning as it were - to others who may take up playing on the EQEmu servers and expecting them to be like EQLive.

You are correct when you say EQEmu has come a long way, I have been following it's progress over the past year or so. It has made leaps and bounds.

I was just frustrated not to be able to play.

If your NOT ABLE TO PLAY after A YEAR then your either really stupid and should not be on a computer (you can type, so you cant be that stupid) OR you just havent bothered to look around and check for fixes and stuff, people like me, are able to be on a server for hours at a time, sometimes yes we do crash sooner, but still, people have lives, maybe the crashes help them get back to the real world . . gets them to NOT live in this fantasy world, this game is addicting, as you will find TONS of posts on official eq sites, eq fan sites, etc . . .

You are spoiled and get everything your way dont you?

like i have said many times befor EQemu is not for everone just like the people that use AOL. those people want evething done from them and not have to put any effert in to it or learn how do it.. when i frist start EQemu i didnt know WTF i was doing but now i make a LAN server to an online server with out having to put much though in it. i Still some on people to that dosent even now what a motherboard or CPU is. most will pay to take easy way out

Umm... WTF?!?

A. I'm not setting up my own server (I know how to by the way).

B. The fact that I only recently set up a forum account indicates I HAVE read all relevent threads and didn't need help (I only set one up to play on other people's servers).

C. I am no genius by any means, but, I am not some Fucking retard like some of the people who have replied to this thread...

D. I have already apologised fo the way I worded my Post!

Just the way it goes, alot of people tend to get defensive.. Sorry you've had a bad experiece..

I've never had any of my accounts get corrupted, so not sure what I can say or do to help with the issue.. If someone could send me a 'corrupted' account/character record, I can try to figure out the issue, but i've never seen it happen.

Hi, When i posted what i did i didnt mean any disrespect or to pratonize anyone. I just have the "log in bug" problem on the guildwars server. My entire account is filled with characerts i cant log on to including 2 30 + chars and 2 20 + chars. As far as i know there is nothing that i can do to prevent or fix this problem. I have tryed deleting .ini files and .opt files (someone said that may work) but that did nothing. And i know if i can't fix it im damn sure my mom can't either

. I was just simply stating the fact that "I have the log in bug problem". and if i knew it was going to piss you guys off so bad i would have just kept my mouth shut. but i thuoght maybe someone would be able to pass on some info in order to get it fixed.

no one pissed me off it is just that no one trys or thinks but they just want to whine lol so people get on the forums a whine hoping other people will feel sorry for them and fix there problem

i am main talking to the guy who made this post if he thinks it is a waste of time then he can Shift-Delete all of his eqemu and mysql files

this is a game that you can play for free online\offline the dervs that are working on this emu spend weeks and weeks for what?
so people can have a fun time playing online or for some people to whining becuase it dosent work lol (Qaia_Que: not talking about you)

I have the same problems, I have so far only logged off normally 1 time out of playing about 15 times. MY biggest problem is I got a router. I remember just a few months ago playing on this and in that few months it has vastly improved. 5 months ago I was lucky to be able to zone at all, now I can get a few zones in.

Gotta remember another thing. The people running these servers don't have a whole room dedicated to run this game like Sony has. Thats why your not paying per month to play. I hardly consider this a waste of time, at least no more so then paying to play the game on-line (playing any game is a waste of time actually). If your expecting this to play just like the pay server you might as well forget it. Even if the program was 100% perfect it still isn't going to be like the original. We don't have the original eqdatabase, original quests, original leveling system, original mob info/loot, and super expensive server equipment.

So don't go blameing JUST the software. For all you know the server you tried to connect to could have been run on a slow computer, or somebody with dial-up.
