You could start by reading the play guide found here

Which guide in the HOWTO forum did you follow ? What errors are you getting ? You said you deleted the game, so you don't have a copy of the Sony EQ client ?

Where in the Play Guide did you see anything about the patcher?

Install the game from your EQ CDs, run EQ, then follow the instructions in

http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9649

omitting step 1, since when you run EQ after installing from the CDs, you will patch to EQLive. There is a patch today, so whether that patch will work with EQemu 5.0 is yet to be seen.

You wont be able to log in anyway there is an issue with the forum not creating the accounts in the login program. and right now there is ot much player content because 5. is still under development. try reading the forums your not the first person to have issues getting EMU running and all questions have been answered multiple times.

Do you have EQ installed in c:\program files\everquest ? In EQW, the 'Executable to launch' should point to the file eqgame.exe wherever it is installed (from your offical EQ CDs).

To play on 0.4.4 (fully playable):
You need EQ installed and patched to no later than December, 2002. If you are patched to far before or after that, you cannot play on 0.4.4 you need to play on 0.5.0.

To play on 0.5.0 (Beta - *NOT* fully playable):
Install EQ
Patch to Live
Change eqhost.txt to point to eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997 in both sections.
Run "eqgame.exe patchme" from your EQ directory or use EQW and uncheck the "run patcher" option.
Login and run around. If you get "bad username/password" then you hit the forum/login db sync bug. No ETA on that fix.
