Default Using a Gamepad with EQEmu?

Hey all, I know this might be crazy, but I am curious to know if there is a program or if the EQ client itself will allow me to use my gamepad for use with EQ? I was playing EQOA a lot over the spring and summer and liked the more action feel it had and the eas of use with the gamepad for the PS2. Now saying that, I still like EQ PC best, but was wondering if I could use my gamepad on the PC which is almost identical to the PS2 pad and configure it to do some or most common functions within the EQ PC game. Ex: Move and look around, target and attack a MOB, etc... Does anyone know if there is a way either within the client or EQEmu server or a third party program that will let me program my controller to do certain EQ functions that are usually done with the mouse or keyboard commands?

Thanks
John

Hi John, well the thing is EQPC has SO MANY keys and uses the mouse for alot of it's input as well it would be near IMPOSSIBLE to play EQ with a gamepad.

Maybe if someone were to come with an adapter to plug the gamepad into a USB port....I dont the PC joystic port has enough I/O

I agree with you though, those PS2 gamespads operate pretty efficiently.

actualy using a computer gamepad wouldn't be to hard, all you have to do is find one where you can set it up to have the pad buttons use some hotbuttons tis not too hard and it has been done before

I use a Gravis Gamepad Pro USB(Playstation controller Clone) and you can set it up to work in just about any program by using the Gravis Xperience software, downloadable from their website here.

It isn't a tough program to use, anyone who can get the emu to work can certainly configure it. [/url]

I have had great succes with my Saitek p2500 USB it comes with a very handy fully configureable program that doesent seem to eat up too many resourses. I only paid 30 bucks for it at wall mart and works better then the piece of crap microsoft one. I haven't yet tried it in EQ but it certainly works for SWG and the simpsons hit and run, but i dont see it as being a problem whereas it emulates keyboard an mouse input. Since buying this thing the ease of play in SWG has been a breeze and the only thing is I have to put it down to type or use a command i dont have mapped. When i get one worked out i will post the profile for EQ!
