Default eqhost.txt and notepad....I need some assistance

The other day i decided to try out eqemu and I followed the setup guide and did everything correctly, but when i tried to change the eqhost.txt i discovered that there i do not have notepad on my computer, instead i tried using wordpad, and I downloaded a notepad replacement program, and changed the eqhost.txt, and then saved. when i tried to log in i still recieved the invalid password error. and when i went back to check the eqhost.txt file i found out that it reverted back to its original form. Do I have to have notepad to do this? and if so, is there any way I can get it, or if not, a substitute for it? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

sounds like you didnt make the shortcut correctly and EQ repatched.

Try to make the shortcut again and if you cant figure it out search for EQW and use that
