Characters don't show up after AdminTool creation

After I create a character in Admin Tools v 5.1 it doesnt show up on my character selection screen. I'm running 0.5.3-DR3. I am not having any problems with the server deleting the character, it just isnt showing up. What am I doing wrong?

edit: the server seems to delete the character if i use it under the main eqemu account. Could anyone post a working character so I may sorce it into mysql?
