connecting to world

ok so i installed all this correctly, and i can log in fine but once i pick the server i want to play on and double click the screen changes resolutions and goes to a black screen with the courser on it. and it just sits there and never gets to the loading screen tht plays music and whatnot. any help would be effin swell.

*edit* ahh my bad i patched past 9/13.

does that mean i have to uninstall all of it and repatch untill 9/12 just to play?
