Help with character creation

I set up my friends computer to play EqEmu on the server. He can connect to the login and servers fine, and doesnt crash during character creation or anything. His problem is he creates a character and it says submitting name to server and approves it, but dumps him back to the character creation screen and doesnt show the character he just finished, any ideas?
