How to Make a Classic Server?

Is there any particular way to go about making a classic server for EQ that is just Classic EverQuest? Is this a hard endeavor or something that is done commonly? I'm interested to hear any ideas, comments, or anecdotal or factual information.

I would honestly really be interested in seeing if anyone has composed of any guides on how to do this.
