Default 1017 errors

I am running my server on win2k, SP3, MySql 3.23 and the latest version of eqemu & minilogin.exe from eqemu.net on a private internal network. I run nat on a machine configured as a router that only affects communication with public addresses outside the house. My server and client machine are both privately addressed. I have already typed !help on IRC and applied the patch to my client (it works with servers on the eqemu network & can login, create chars etc)

I can start my server up with no errors (minilogin.exe, world.exe & boot5zones.bat) and have already done the commands "world.exe adduser eqemu eqemu 200" as well as open up permissions on my sql data base. I can log into my server from my game client on a different machine and get to the server select where my newly created sever shows up. However, when I try to join that server to get to character creation, I get a 1017 error that says I must patch. I've spent a few hours going thru the boards & reading the readme looking for answers and trying answers to other folk's issues with no luck.

Since I am able to log my client into games hosted here, I'm thinking there is a communication issue between minilogin.exe and world.exe on my server but I'm not sure. I really would like to keep this server only communicating on my private internal network. Does anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong please?

Thank you
