First off, you haven't talked to a GM yet. Nor have you spoken to a developer. We are users. We only encourage following the rules. Stop whining. Out of the near year I've been following EQEMU, I have been able to play maybe 6 months of that time.
You've been following the project how long? Just wait until the update comes out... Jeez. Bunch of babies.
These guys don't owe you anything. Stop complaining! It's free, open source. If it doesn't work, fix it yourself. The devs have jobs, families, and other worries than making eqemu work for the maybe 100 people out of several 1000 that can't get it to work.
Patcher is closed source, and is controlled to avoid piracy. It sounds like it does its job too well. Don't blame us.
