Default Factions

I've spent the last few days checking out servers. Mind you I haven't played EQlive in well over a year now. I've tried out the legit, the semi legit, nonlegit servers. By far I like the semi legit with the #zone and #summonitem abilities, and lvl requirements (like questing to find the npc that will lvl you, or reaching a certain lvl first then get a gm to lvl you, even though I 50% don't want to be lvld).

What all are missing imo, minus some of the legit ones, is faction.

I left EQlive because things got boring. I had played for nearly three years. Coming here, I couldn't see right off what was missing (okay aside from full features of EQlive that is). But I figured it out tonight when playing some of the legit servers that have faction.

I'm not sure how all servers work their faction, but part of the challenge of hunting in any game is taking chances. You never know if so and so npc or mob is going to lay into you as you stroll past it. You don't know if that drake you're laying a smack down on is going to call for friends. There is no group npc/mob agro (BAF). Along those lines, mobs that run off for whatever reason when low on health, sometimes to bring friends, are nice to have around.

Is there a reason so many servers do not have faction implemented?
