Default Problems in the command prompt

Okay, when I run files like world.exe or boot5zones.bat, the windows they start in do not stay open. Running the bat causes about ten windows to pop up in very quick sequence, and disappear before I can read them. World.exe only pops up one window, and I can see text appearing, but the window closes before I can read it.

I'm not sure if this is a problem. I couldn't get the program to work yesterday. Today, I'm using remote desktop to check everything I've set up, and EQ will not run remotely, so I can't be positive that it's not working. But I noticed the disappearing windows yesterday, and they're still occuring. Is this a problem? I think so, because I can't tell if I'm getting errors.
