Default Armor Dyes

We have come across an issue where we would like to get the users opinion. On Everquest Live whenever you "dye" an armor piece you are actually only dye'ing the slot, not the item itself. Now this is great because you dont have to dye multiple pieces of armor if you want to have the same color for multiple pieces that fit in the same slot. However, this process makes no sense if you think about it. If you "dye" socks from white to green in real life you cant simply put on another white pair of socks and have it magically turned green. Not only does it not make sense, it gives people that like to have multiple colored armors a headache. Since its dying the slot and not the armor, you can not carry multi-colored equipment around with you - you would have to dye it each time. We were thinking about maybe adding a db variable that let the server owner decide which way to go (EQ Lives way, or the correct way), but we would really like to get the users opinions about which one makes more sense and which one they would rather see in the emu...
