I found this kind of interesting. http://www.undergroundguides.com/everquestemu.htm . An excerpt from the guide:

"Choose a server and play! These are all player-run servers, some of them are for testing and screwing around on (make your character level 100, summon the best equipment, change your name/race at will, become a GM, etc.), and others are for a true game
