Then you do NOT understand the nature of internet connections. Let me try to keep is short and to the point.

Have you ever noticed that some websites give you more than one link to download from? This is because of routing issues for some on the internet. If your ISP has to hop 25 times to get to that file then it will most definately be slower (also given other factors) than the person that has only 3 hops to that file... Or you could put it this way. When downloading a file you would want to choose a mirror link/site that is closest to you physically, rather than one that is in Europe (if you are in America) for that VERY same reason. Just understand it is NOT the fault of anyone in this case exept the routing from your machine to his server. Obviously this does suck, but there is nothing that can be done about it.

There are MANY other factors to this, but to keep it short, you get the general idea.
