Entering World..

Ok, seems like everyone is having problems with this so I figure I could post without getting burned for my stupidity. I've been all over the forums looking for solutions for problems on entering the world after you create your character. I assume its because ive patched live or something. I saw something about that on a past forum but I want to ask just to make sure I've been working on this for a couple of days now and I am just stumped. Any advice on this subject would be helpful.
