Custom Items fixed in 3.2?
As some of you know, i am creating more items for the database to release, here is the prob: when I try to summon the item i created it says no such item. Was wondering if there was a way to fix this, if so how? And if not, will this be fixed in 3.2? If I get a yes that it will be fixed, I will go ahead and create a ton of items that are missing from the database, please also tell me if you are adding items to the database in 3.2 so I can wait

Is that after making a template of the item? I may be mistaken but i thought items could be created from scratch? In that case your errors are very strange *boggles* Wish i hadnt patched first then i could help you out with it !

I still say someone just creates a program that rips all the item info off the Magelo website...

magelo is useless , its missing too much info like proc spell , appearance , and other things not viewable , magelo is only displaying the top of the iceberg

Hmm, I wouldnt call it useless. Still would be useful for creating a skeleton item database addon, but each indivudual item would need to be tweaked/fixed, but would still beat having to do it all by hand.

I'm sure you tried this already, but I added some custom items to my server and had to bring down the world.exe program and all the zone programs before they would update...just a thought =P

Yea, I didn't overwrite any items, all I did was create the item, maybe the numbers are to high, here are the numbers so far that I have made: 32335 - 32361

Hmm.. So, after restarting the computer, you can load the admin tool up and verify the new item is in the database?
If the admin tool doesnt commit the changes, I can see how this would happen...

Yep, the items are in the database, 2 of the items work, but the rest of the 25 or so don't work. I released them in my pre-0.6 database, you can see if they work, I had a friend download it, start his server, and the only items that worked was them 2.
If you do try it, the 2 items are: 32360 and 32361

I've had problems with custom items too. Whatever I set their ID as, the ID that #search gives is always that of the "Culler" weapon for some reason (can't remember the exact ID). I can (usually) summon the custom item if I write down the ID first. However the item, whatever it is, always has a skill boost of -32000 or so to Channeling skill and is only usable by followers of Cazic-Thule, Bristlebane and Mithaniel Marr..
I can only assume that this is because item skill boosts and deity restrictions aren't editable by the current admin program. However I've no idea what is causing the ID problem.

The items blob contains the Item # also. Normaly this matches the item # of the database. Probably why the search always results in the culler item# (you copied the culler to create your items) This may work right depending on what tool you use to make the item. I havn't tested them.
Creating an item from scratch will almost certianly result in a bad item. Not all the fields needed are displayed in the admin tools. Copy a similar item to what you want to make, and edit it to your hearts desire.

Another thought is that if you using admin tool make sure all the numbers for your items are being edited in the item id box by the icon...just another thought, wish i could help hehe

The problems you're having are in whatever program you're using to make the items, not in the emulator itself. Post a bug topic on that program's board (or 3rd party tools, if that's where they read).
