No NPC or Player Texture ?

Hi all

i use newest release of emu with caves db and titanium client (unpatched)

now my problem is:

in all zones of Gates of Discord i have no npc and player textures all npcs and player are black all zones befor GoD work fine

any ideas ?

Hi all

it is no server problem it seems its the grafic card or driver

i use an gforce 6800gt
with an gforce 5700xt there is no problem at all

i tried to use the same driver version like the other pc with older card no success also i did try some newer and older

if someone also has a gforce 6800 gt and does not have the problem it would be nice if he could tell me wich driver version he uses

it seems to be a problem with new shader 2 and / or 3 (of grafic card )

i think this post is now in the wrong forum or wrong place in forum

i use a BFG 6800gt oc and have no issue like this in this zone. I use driver version 91.31 and all textures mob and character show up just fine.

Aslo try turning off advanced lighting and shadows under under display advanced area and see what that does. i know if i use the advance lighting it messes up all my graphics but not like this. worth a shot though.

Hi hm i did install 91.31
i did turn of dyn light and shadows
i did turn of / on all shaders
also tried disable water thing

all i made no success

There was another thread of with this same issue try reinstalling eq titanium. You could also have bad or corruptted files in your main eq folder.

Hi

I did reinstall it 3 times

i uninstalled than deleted folder and cleaned up registry

after that i reinstalled with the same result

also i did copy files from an 2nd pc where it works but also no textures

This appears to be an issue beyond the scope of EQEMU support. I would imagine you'd get the same problem on live(unless they've patched titanium to fix this) with your hardware configuration. In other words, this appears to be an issue with your graphics card and GoD.

not going to like the sound of this but i believe duke_nemmerle is right on your issue. The other thread i can say now is a different issue and if they have 6800gt will have this problem arise when they zone into a God zone. I decide to zone into a God zone on my server to check out your settings to get no npc or pc graphics and i didn't have to do much but zone in to get your issue you describe. So it does have something to do with the the 6800 gt cards maybe all newer cards with pixel sharder 3.0. So wonder if anyone that has say a 7800 seriers card to chime in and see if it is just the 6800 gt or all newer cards and ones with the newer ati's to see if maybe it is just a nvidia card issue or if both ati and nvidia do the same thing.

But it probably can be fixed as i had helm grapics and arm graphics on my character but no npc graphics so it is a rendereffects issuse with the God zones.

I'll look around I think i remeber seeing a way to force a certian sharder version but not sure might just be game specific on that on a diff forum i visit.

I went searching and it would seem that this issue has arose in EQ live for alot of people. Continued looking and found that the fix was to delete a few files and repatch. Since we can't patch or it will break our client there might not be a way to fix this. I tried everything but the files that seem to cause this are eqmain.dll, eqgraphicsdx9.dll, eaxman.dll, eqclient.ini and they can not be changed for us as they WILL break eqemu for you.

I tryed pulling stuff from my eq folder that is patched to live and adding to my eqemu eq with no luck so the problem lies with those main files that can not be updated. still looking to maybe it could be something else but right now i dunno cause there no way of checking those files with live updated files.

Also if you have the titanium disk does it install zonename_chr.s3d files for God? The zones i have issue with in God do not have those files and cannot be gotten through the sony patcher. Every zone prior to God i have the _chr.s3d files for the zones. Later today i might go grab titanium and see but i don't really need it right at this time.

i also did search a lot and it realy seems i have to wait or play on other pc

i know this it not the right place to post this error but it may be interesting maybe for all people who have card with shader 3

if im the only one im sorry that i started this post 1st i thought it is maybe a server prob it is not

yes it does i have abysmal_chr.s3d natimbi_chr.s3d and so on

Ok well i'm gonna run and grab titanium then and see what i can do. My eq folder do not contain any of the _chr.s3d files so seeing it installs them. i'll see what i can try with titanium install and pulling those files into my eq directory now. Might not work but worth a shot. Worst case i have a much cleaner install of eq to play on eqemu server when i mess up my computer and need to reinstall.

Well i found the fix for God zones. Good thing nothing gets deleted from the forums cause i found the fix in a post back to 2004 heh.

Goto your eqclient.ini and add Add the line HardwareTNL=False to your eqclient.ini file somewhere under [Defaults]. This should fix the grey model issue.
