Wind,

Great program. Created a zone but the only way I can get it to work is if I name it to an existing zone name and replace with the new created zone. Have copied the .s3d files to everquest folder and .map to emulator, Is there a magic number I have to add to the database to get it to work for it's zone id, or are we limited to the current zonenames that are now in the database?

Thx.

No, you're doing the right thing -- the client will only load those zones that come with it. I get around it with a special version of the 0.5.5 server that I've modified to use a program I've written called ZoneProxy, and I run ZoneProxy when I run my client. When I want to zone to a zone I've made with OpenZone, my server basically taps ZoneProxy on the shoulder and asks it to back up one of the EQ zones and replace it with my own before it tells the client to load it (my DB has an extra column called "thirdparty" that lets the server know when to do this). Eventually we'll have our own client and none of this will be an issue.

Nope. OpenZone can't edit SOE zones and that's by design. If I allowed it, people would undoubtedly use it to cheat on EQLive, such as adding shortcuts to get around dangerous mobs. I don't want SOE accusing me of creating a cheaters' tool with OpenZone since its sole purpose is for making original content.
