going through and spawning each mob in each zone, and in all dungeons would take forever, whether it be my own design or the original. If I make my own setup, then I have to put even more thought process behind it, as now I have to figure out what situations are too much, and what aren't enough. It's something I don't want to deal with.

So what is actually fully spawned and what isn't? I'm just wondering if there is much of a playable game without having to deal with the spawns/loot tables. If original, kunark, and velious are all 100% setup and spawned with loot tables in the current version of the server software, than that is fine for me. I don't need to be able to have all of the other expansions working. Last I played was like 6 years ago, so the latest expansion I ever played was Luclin anyways, and I didn't play it much.

As a relatively noobish noob to Emu myself, I will offer this advice. Understand the concept of "emulator" vs "live". If you want to play EQLive, the cost of membership for a subsciption is very nominal vs the amount of time you would need to invest to bring and Emu up to "live" (which will never happen, since the Emu will always lag behind Live).

Secondly, if you took the time to try the Emulator, you would be amazed how much actually does work, is _very_ playable and enjoyable - as both a standard player in a legit community to a non-legit "everyone can summon/death touch everything" server. My friends and I are long-time veterans of Live, and we love the game through DoN. Yet we find literally hours and hours of non-stop fun and excitement running around as GM's just seeing what works! Cuz it's a lot, and amazing. Get the point? It's amazing.

So before anyone thumbs their nose at Emu because it's not "live", take the hour or two of your life it'll take to set it up, spend the $20 to by Titanium (easier than seeking other methods to connect), and check it out for yourself. The core dev team are not the only ones adding to the Emu. Many community members dedicate hours of their own time to adding content and making things better. Become part of the solution, if you truly want to see an Emu that stands up to Live.

My 2cp.

The aim of the developers is to give you the software to play, not to give a database.

There is people in the community who have spent years (PeQ) trying to get everything perfectly to live. Your comment it would take forever is correct it is taking them a long long time to get everything to *live like*.

You can easily get on and play for a long time with no need of PoP or higher, hell did it on live for years.

Thanks for all of the info guys... I wasn't so concerned that all of the expansions worked.. I just wanted to know that there was some playability to at least the original and perhaps a few expansions. I didn't notice the "PEQ" before and thought the original EMU client I had downloaded had everything in it (which is why I was concerned as to how much would be populated since the EQEmu program isn't very large).

Now if someone can point me in the right direction to the help files that give instructions on how to install the files obtained from PEQ, that would be cool. I have PERL and SQL installed per the other instructions I found. I haven't yet obtained a copy of Titanium so I will be working on that as well. I'm just trying to get all of the other stuff covered so that when I do obtain a copy and invite a few friends over to play on my local server, I won't end up spending 10 hours trying to figure out why it's not working.

Thanks for everyone's help =)
