John Adams, I'm one of the silent ones. I had the emulator up and running fine and then maybe a month ago I started having the server selection / eqgame.exe crash out of the blue. I've been searching the boards and trying everything I can think of but nothing has worked.

I can connect directly to Angelox's server and SoD with no issues. I have to agree that it's most likely some weird problem on the server side.

One thing I do note on the server select screen: It says I have 25 out of 25 expansions. I was thinking this was maybe related to the crash, but then on Angelox's it said I had 29 out of 29 expansions. Probably doesn't mean anything, but you never know...

Swish, it almost sounds like you are having a networking issue unrelated to EQEmu.

Could be your ISP, router, cabling, NIC in your computer or just NIC settings... too many things to start trouble shooting from a far. perhaps you can post more info along the lines of what, exactly, you have done troubleshooting wise already? Perhaps a description of your network setup?

Thx for the help =P

Well, as I said in the first post. I'll quote and add whatever I can;

"I have tried everything: testing the problem in two different computer, changing from router to normal LAN modem, putting off firewall and any protection program, closing all programs through MSCONFIG, reinstalling everquest several times, swithing to DMZ Host and tons of other stuff."

I also tried to plug it to many diffrenet line spots in my house.
I'v tried to unplug anything else in the house that is connected to the phone lines.
I have even formatted my cpu two times and reinstalled eq.
I have upgraded my line rate.

My network setup..? Well, I am using a router that is connected directly with cables into two computers.

I have tried just about anything that I can do through my home hehe =P

It really seems like its a problem related to my ISP.
As I said before, sometimes it works perfect without me changing anyhting.
I just get on the computer one day and its all fine. next few hours, the connection resets itself (the router is reconnecting to the net without any reason) and it returns to be bad.
On the router, I tried all methods from disabling firewalls, port forwarding and setting the router on a DMZ host (which should disable any protection [risky]).

The most wierd is, yesterday I had a situation where it worked really perfect but the router said that the noise margin is very low (below 10, which is bad).
So it seems like its unrelated to how clean the line is.
Also, i had no issues while I had the IP filtering firewall and NAT on in my router. So its surely not a problem with the protection.

Now I am not sure what to do hehe. I mean, just keep changing ISPs untill I hit something good?
I thought about taking my computer to my friend's house and see if it works better in there.

If I think about, when I dont change anyhting and the connection changes all the time from better or worse, this means that is not something inside. Its something outside.

Just ask for any more information =P

Thanks,
Swish.

Btw, what is NIC?
