Agreed. For a server to be sucessful it has to bring something new to the table. Besides from the fact you say your server will be around a while, it has to be fresh or somehow different to spark real interest.

Well, tbh this server has brought something new to the table. This is the one server where I can play EQ like it was originally in it's pvp heyday- at the time of the Velious expansion, the last Verant produced expansion. Most of the people who I played EQ with originally agree that the Velious expansion was somewhat of a "watershed" time for EQ.

Moreover, the server is legit and classic, the server is on a great box, it's got a great connection, and it has a dedicated group running it. As far as pvp rewards go, yeah if done well they can be nice, but a true pvper doesn't need any more of a reward than the simple satisfaction of killing another player~

Rallos Zek had item loot. I'm not sure about the others. Item loot is all the reward a true EQ PvPer needs .

Both the server op and the guy who is flaming him is wrong.

1. There isn't really any gear.

Yes there is, the gear that is in Angelox's. Which imo, is enough.

2. You need a supercar to get to your corpse before it rots.

That's due to a fault with corpse expired times; correct.

3. Daxum doesn't know how to fix bugs.

Fact made on logging in and asking him to fix a bug, and when he said he didn't want to he /q'd. Totally.

4. The world is too large and hotzones too far apart to premote pvp.

With a playerbase, that would be incorrect.

5. Some of the monsters have the ability to take you down in 1 blow.

Some. Not all.

. Its race pvp, so everyone has to make a different race, or theres no pvp.

7. There is no cheating protection.

You would know.

8. ANONYMOUS is being thrashed so it would be like finding a needle in a haystack trying to find some pvp.

Don't you have MQ2, and can bypass that?

9. You can easily become a victim of corpse camping.

True, you can corpse camp. You could also corpse camp on pvp servers in basically any game.

10. Money is hard to comeby, hard life being a caster, gotta get that money for those spells ya'll!.

Kill stuff, sell loot. Not entirely hard.

11. About 3 different people play the server 4boxing. (fun!)

That's where I would get iffy.

Actually, I hadn't posted a reply until about 30 seconds ago, so I'm not sure how I was wrong, when I hadn't even posted back.

I have never, and would never /q to avoid a situation (pvp or otherwise). Additionally, I don't recall that situation, at all. Beyond that, I've yet to tell anyone that I "didn't want to" fix any bug (I've said "we'll put it on the list", or "we're looking into it", or "I'm sorry but not having a spell scriber, corpse summoner and buff bots at every zoneline is not a bug", etc. I'm not sure if you got ahold of me while I was AFK (I work from home, and am online while working at times), or something along those lines, but I assure you that I wouldn't just bolt out to avoid you. I apologize about whatever happened to give you the wrong idea about me.

I apologize, I meant Warsaint /q'd when you said you wouldn't fix something. I in no way did mean to be offensive torwards you.

All of my posts here were flames torwards Warsaint; I support any and all servers, no matter how bad people say they are.

Im truely suprised to see such a big featured server already open for players, you clearly did a good job by hiding while developing it (which is a good thing in EMU world, cause 90% of the servers never make it to actual game-stage)

I've spread the word to my good friends from vallon zek pvp, and i hope to see many of your faces on the battlefield!

I have one question though, i dont know how foolproof 7.x version is, but how do you attempt to keep the hackers out?

I won't get into the specifics, but we've been testing a few things that seem to work pretty well.

Updated Rules:
PvP Rules

• You can neither attack, nor be attacked by another player until level 7
• You can neither attack, nor be attacked by your guildmates
• You can neither attack, nor be attacked by another player that is more than 10 levels above or below your current level
• To sum it up: You can attack (and kill) any player that is above level 6, in a different guild (or unguilded), and +/- 10 levels from you.

Buffs and Heals:

• You can heal or buff members of your guild
• You can heal or buff players that are within 10 levels of your current level

Additional Updates

• Melee damage for PvP has been increased.
• Food and Drink consumption rates have been reduced.
• All luclin zones other than the Nexus have been closed off.
• Anonymous is gone from the global /who all list.
