Support::General SupportPost all topics here having to do with errors while trying to connect to an EQEMu server but not about the setup/running of the Server itself.
okay....I re-installed my old DSL Broadband Modem tonight, and hey....worked first time. It's definately a router problem or wireless problem...just not sure which and what configurations need to be made...I'm stumped. I may end up having to return the whole package and stick to this crappy thing *cry sob*
Sounds like there may be some kind of security settings on your new wireless router/modem combo. Normally just to play on emu servers, you don't have to open any port ranges. I know AOL tends to dumb stuff down considerably. Maybe they have some weird security thing that blocks ports or blocks some kind of packets that you need to get connected. You can always try adding the port range of 5998 to your router config and see if that helps. That should be all you need to be able to connect. This definitely shouldn't be required on most networks though.
I know proxies can block ports, so maybe the router is doing some kinda port blocking. I wouldn't be too surprised if AOL put something like that in their equipment to "protect" their users. You could probably call their custom service support and see if they can figure it out for you.
