hi all, I'm having the exact same issue. I've completely uninstalled perl 5.8 and downgraded to 5.7 with the same problem. I have the same errors in my quest log files as the other poster above and no hail answers from NPCs etc as the poster. I'm at a loss for what to try next. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

5.8 is not the problem. I use 5.8.8 without any issues, running on XP and Linux. My first guess would be that there is something wrong with the version of perl that you have or something didn't install correctly in the process, maybe a broken install file. What happens when you try to run one of the quests from the command line? You should actually see nothing if it's working correctly.

I'm running the Emu on XP with (currently) perl 5.8. When I run quest scripts from the command line, nothing happens, which means the problem is not with the perl scripts. One thing I did differently with this server was to use the new PEQServerPack-4.0-1104.exe, which sets all the EmuEq stuff up automatically. I wonder if there is a problem with it.

yep, I wrote a simple "hello, world!" script and it ran from the command line fine.
