You can change the loading zone text but you have to do it in the exe, The only thing you can do easily is change the long name in the database of the zone... ex. Greater Faydark to Woods of Elfs (or whatever ) It will only change what it says in the chat bar upon zoning in but it will still say entering greater faydark on the loading screen..

Thanks; I know about changing the long name in the db (and have done so). How would I change the exe--or is that even possible? If I recall correctly, Wiz changed that string in the SoD loading-zone screens (e.g., Entering Felwithe changed to Entering Athica, or at least I thought), so it must be doable. Yeormom indicated he was able to do it here, but I have no idea what his code is referring to.

Default Changing zones\loading names

eqstr_us.txt contains a huge amount (if not all) of the text everquest uses.

zone names, spell names, spell descriptions and such...
it goes much deeper from changing class/race names to even change the text that shows when your hungry to "You are starving. Go and get some cookies".

It is a very long list of text. If you need to change Felwithe's zone name, just search for 'Felwithe' in the file untill you hit the 'Felwithe' name alone. This time, I think its line 2303.

You can even change the 'Entering' text when it says 'Entering Felwithe' =D

Hope it helps.
