Unless your friend is using the exact same PC hardware as you, it doesn't matter what resolutions work fine for them. Some hardware just takes playing around with resolutions to make it work properly. Many people have had similar issues in the past. It could also be something to do with your eqclient.ini config, but there is no clear information on what you might need to change in it to get it corrected. You could try renaming your eqclient.ini file and starting EQ (EQ uses full screen by default) to see if it works after that. If not, you can always just rename it back to the original file name again.

Really, for you to be using Windowed mode, you would have had to either change that in your eqclient.ini file, or while you were in game as full screen at some point. If you have never been able to get in fully in full screen mode and have not edited your eqclient.ini file, then that almost certainly means you are using an illegal copy of EQ that you got from someone else. If that is the case, then we do not support illegal copies here so I would suggest getting a legal retail copy of Titanium or SoF and uninstall your current copy and delete the directory. Then, install the legal copy and you should be working perfectly fine.

Did you try editing your eqclient.ini file and changing the fulscreen video mode setting to look the same as your desktop?

Were'd you get your client from? was it on another PC and you copied it over?

If it's an NVIDIA card, the recent drivers have been having tons of issues lately. It's not rendering full screen applications correctly, so you might need to try an older driver like 182.50 or something. If you have an ATi card, well, I'm not sure as I don't have one.

You can try this, however.

Go into your eqclient.ini file and do the following.

1.) Find the [Video Modes] section. Edit it to the following if it isn't already.

[VideoMode]
Width=1680
Height=1050
WidthWindowed=1680
HeightWindowed=1050
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
WindowedWidth=1680
WindowedHeight=1050

The 0 in FullscreenRefreshRate should reset it. If it's not, then set it to your desktop refresh rate.

Also, if it's off-center, just wait until you get to the server select screen and then hit ALT-Enter to make it fullscreen.

I have to add that the SoF client's eqclient.ini file is much different, so it would probably explain why there's less issues with that client. Might be something to consider if you can't get it to work.
