I don't think this will work because we use MyISAM on the items table, but check this out:

I did it using this SLQ query:

SELECT row_1 FROM table FOR UPDATE;
UPDATE table SET row_2 = row_1;


It worked just fine.

I believe the issue for items is that we are not making an exact copy of the row. We have to have a unique ID number. This is why all the remaining columns need to be specified. Off hand, I can not think of a simpler way to do this. But perhaps someone else could think of a simpler way.

I have never been able to make copies of items table- I always get some sort of error. I simply use George's Item editor to make 10-20 dummy copies and just work with them.
