It's a tad more complicated than that.

You can't run the regular EverQuest after you replace the eqhost.txt file, or it will replace it with the ones the Everquest Live servers use...you have to bypass the login patch thingy...but there are tools that make this simple.

There are two ways I know of (probably more that exist, but I know of two )...

1) Download EQW (EQ Window) and run it, it doesn't run the patch program, so you're all good and dandy there.

2) Open up your DOS prompt and get to the everquest directory (Mine's c:/Program Files/EverQuest - that's the default, dunno where yours is) and type 'eqgame.exe patchme', without the quotes of course.

Again, both of these methods can be found on the EQEmu Win32 Forum (I think that's what it's called...) under the sticky called "Client Installation Guide" or something along those lines.

It's been a while since I've been active in the community, can you tell? . However, now that things are MUCH more stable, I'm getting back into it .
