people can't get past character select screen

Were you ever able to get this resolved? I'm having the same problem. I'm connecting to my server via lan and I connect and zone just fine. When I unplug my lan cable, plug in a phone cord and use my ISP's dial-up, I can't get past the character select screen. In either case I have my client eqhost.txt file set to my external IP. It must just be the way the router is routing me internally that makes it work but it fails for an external IP. I have my ports all forwarded as:
5998: TCP and UDP
7000-7100: TCP and UDP
9000: TCP and UDP
but I still end up with world.exe reporting:

Help would be appreciated, as I've tried about everything I can think of. I don't understand why running internally it's fine but externally it fails even though all the ports are being FW'd.
