Default Unable to cast on my server

Hello all. I am have a casting problem on my server. If I'm am not in combat and I try to cast any spell, it tells me that the spell cannot be cast out of combat. Alternatively, If I am in combat and try to cast any spell, it tells me that I cannot cast that spell in combat. I could not find anything about this in the forums. Has anyone else ran into this before. The server was working fine. I brought it down for a couple weeks, and then this started happening when i put it back up.

Make sure that your spell file matches the spells your server is running. You may need to use the export script to export what your server has and then copy that file into your EQ folder.

I usually check my log files, and I do not ever remember seeing this before this problem started.

I was in the game and noticed that periodically i will get a message saying

"Warning: Invalid slot move from slot 2999833142 to slot 2999831255 with 0 charges!"

The first slot is always a different number and the second number is always the same. Any suggestions or comments?

Read what I wrote in the post directly above yours. You need to compile a new server with the latest code.

Hi there, got the same problem. How do I export that file? where is the file? it's spells_us.txt??
Using navicate lite here. But some options for exporting are kinda weird to me.. ;( Anyone can tell me how to export the tables into a valid spells_us.txt format?

In the utils directory where you downloaded the server source code there's a file called export_spells.pl. Put it where your server files are and type 'perl export_spells.pl'

If you get an error saying you're missing a package, install that package and then try again. You could also download and use the georges tool to export it.

I used nullspelleditor, did a full export to db, then export to spells_us.txt, then copied it in the EQ folder so it match. still can't cast.. on any server I tried.

You should try exporting it and then importing it again to see if that helps. Use the perl scripts as mentioned for that.
