So, we've gotten some AWESOME feedback even before the server hit alpha that kind of made us step back and see something, what we were doing was looking at this from a approach of Everquest with a little Diablo, we got feedback from a couple people stating to sway away from EQ tactics (Tank//healer), and go more towards Diablo tactics (everyone can tank everything)

So TDLR;

Alpha will now have 5 classes! - These classes will be what we make LIVE.
Additional classes will be released with expansions.
The Class List is updated on our website. (Descriptions soon to follow).
Gems - Much like Diablo gems will be able to be inserted into gear.
EVERY CLASS will have some type of healing ability, plus potions that are open to be used from the General Vendor.
Gear - Has randomized stats on it, over 1,000 custom items have been added for the first zone.
Weapons - While some weapons are restricted by class their stats are ALL Randomized.
Mobs - Will have HIGHER hit points, to make up for this, they lack a bunch of damage, this being said, if you aggro 50 mobs, expect to die, still.
Bosses - Will have strategies built into them, allowing every class to be able to solo them with some effort brought into it.
Loot - Loot in general is done by a ITEM LEVEL drop rate. Example; Normal Sword is Item Level 10 that mobs 1-5 will drop, mobs 6-10 will drop Item Level 11 (or 15, un-decided).

We want to say, once again, SORRY about the delay, but getting feedback before the server even opens is just... amazing, makes us look twice or three times at it. Lol... As a unrelated post -- Here is a video. We're sorry.

to start with,
Im a massive diablo fan, i havnt played Diablo 3 though, heard to many bad reviews, and didnt want to ruin my D2 experience,
heck i still play D2 to this day, download numerous mods to change the game slighty but keeping it to the D2 style,

Suggustion about the Loot, Preparps do it so Mobs 1-5 can drop item level 1-10, so mobs 6-10 can drop randomed from 10-15 etc, to make it more Diablo ish, because lets say Blood Raven run, 2 different runs, same business , 1 run might drop say a level 10 sword, then next run might only drop a say a level 7 sword etc,

I Apolgise for my Spelling + Grammer, it is my bad flaw,

But when the server is up and running, I will be planning to jump on it straight away and have some D2 fun EQ style or EQ fun D2 Style

Boweq, one thing you should realize is that we are not limiting ourselves to just D2. We are attempting to incorporate the whole franchise. Pulling pieces from all the games.

With that being said, I will talk to Nerd about your suggestion, however, I think you are confusing what we meant about Item Levels.

The Item Levels are not required levels on gear, it is just how the item relates to the rest of the gear on the server.

(I.E. An IL of 10 will be better than a IL of 5.)
At the moment, there is no required level on gear, as is because you can only go to level 10 during the alpha. However, in the future, I'm sure there will be required levels on gear.

As Jahar said - We are using all of the Diablos, one, two and three. Three we are only using the classes, because lets be honest, Diablo 3 SUCKED. xD

Hmm, I'm a bit confused on what you mean far as the gear, but lets throw this example out there; SwordA has 10 damage, 25 delay, and random stats (Example; 1 STR, 2 STAM and 10 HP). SwordB has 8 Damage, 25 delay, and random stats (Example; 2 STR, 3 STAM, and 15 HP). -- Mind you, as I stated, there are over 1,000 CUSTOM items made, while I will not tell you how many of each type can drop, I can assure you, it's plentiful (We'll add more if we have to. )

Both of these items are Item Level 10 -- As said every *normal* item is Item Level 10.

If you kill a boss, lets use Leoric;

VV THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE AND IS NOT WHAT THE ACTUAL PERCENTAGES NOR THE ACTUAL GEAR IS THAT WILL DROP VV

You walk in, kill Leoric. Once you do so he has a chance (80%) to drop a RARE item, a chance to drop a LEGENDARY item (10%), and a chance to drop a SET item (.1%), as well as a couple of normal items. The RARE is Item Level 11, Legendary is Item Level 12, and Set is 13. This way we can have a randomized chance of the boss dropping each of these items. -- When you advance to the next part of the act AFTER you kill Act One Part One boss the item levels go to 15, so the next big boss will drop the same set up, except, item levels will be 15. So in theory, any boss mobs that we have set up, has a chance to drop Rare, Legendary, or a Set item.

We used GeorgesS tools top randomize all of our stats (Which by the way, was awesome.)

I slightly chuckled at this, the possibility of this server enabling boxing, is VERY low.

So a little update, we changed the gear too, before it was the standard Cloth is better for casters, Plate for plate wears, well.... that's gone. Now, it's just like Diablo, everyone can wear everything, some are better for you then others, hell you might find a Cloth Robe better for you then a Plate Chest as a Barbarian! You just never know what you'll find. (There's 480 different variations of 'Normal' items, all FULLY custom (Thanks to GeorgesS tools.)

Finishing Necromancer, Barbarian and Amazon spells are next on the agenda, then a short test on them (as we do with all of our spells), and a complete finish on Act One (Which is just about done) Jahar has some RL things going on, so I cannot FOR SURE give you a date to expect it, all I can say is stay tuned to our website, we will be updating it as soon as know more.

As I said, hopefully this server can live up to peoples anticipation. xD <3 guys. Thanks for your support.

EDIT; Much like Diablo 2: Lords of Destruction there WILL be class specific stuff that is better then normal gear... So don't get disgruntled about the gear the gear will be worth it, I promise. (Well worth it to the server, it won't be like other servers where they have 900000000 hp or whatever.)

Another update: Development is moving along smoothly.

-Spells are nearing 100% completion.
-Items are nearing 100% completion.
-We are about 50% done with mob placement.

Alpha launch is going to be right around the corner. Going to put up a poll on our website on how spells should be received.
