I was having a similar problem when setting the Lua path in cmake to my actual installed Lua folder. But when I set the path to use the Lua libs in the dependencies folder, everything compiled fine. Download the dependencies from here for your OS

My mistake get the hem from here: http://eqemu.github.io/
That's where the the Luaj_86/x64 and Boost dependencies are.

What are you compiling as, x86 or x64?
Everyone I have spoken with that is having problems is having problems with x64.
I can compile everything just fine against x86, just not x64.

Yes it compiles fine but zones go into a startup - shutdown - reboot loop and as such I cant log into world.
There is zero message in the logs that gives a clue about this and attaching debugger didn't show anything.

What happens if you just start zone.exe without the launcher via command line?

im not sure what was going on, but I deleted everything, redownloaded the 64 depencies and server code and recompiled and it worked. deleted database and downloaded new daily dump. everything seems to load up and run just fine, but im back to having grouping issues. I can invite one person and then that's it. after that there isn't a group leader set so can invite anymore. very strange. but thanks for all the help. starting to get the hang of all the cmake and Lua stuff now.

in any case, I think I have the grouping situation now fixed. so I am all good and up and running again.

I'm dinking around on some stuff atm but I'll give that a try later on and see if anything stands out.
