Default Database

Hi all,

Finally got my local server working last night.

Got in and there are no doors or NPC's. Is this something that is all in the add-on?

Is there a different database that I can use? If so where is it?

Is there a step by step guide to creating these items?

Thanks and regards

For spawns, items, and quests you have to create or load a database that contains them. (ok quests are stored in files, but you get the idea) The db.sql file that comes with the emu is just the bare structure that the emu uses. Get the DB Addon, or drawde's worlddata (and quests) if you want something a little more like the real EQ. Read the directions that come with them, and read in the world builders forum. Neither is complete or free of bugs, they are early works in progress.

I'm looking for a database myself simular to the one of Forever-hacking, which as all the latest items and NPCs in it, anyone know where I can get that, I'd like to host a PvP server. Thanks.

P.S. Ever the latest Database release post on the boards doesnt have anything close to what's on Forever-hackings server.

I tried running the dbase add-on as by the instructions in the readme.

c:\mysql\bin\install.bat db.sql

I keep getting an error 1102 incorrect database name db.sql

Anyone got any ideas?

Default Tugurce says," ".

I believe that you have to enter the name of your MySQL database, i.e. 'EQ", or whatever you chose to call it when you set it up.

c:\mysql\bin\install eq

I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I had to update my DB.

Open "mysql.exe" located in \mysql\bin
Type in:
Create database EQ;

that will make you a DB
Then You type:
Use EQ
Source db.sql

Bingo you have a EQEMu DB now )

Check out the 3rd party tools section of the forums, it's got a lot of nice stuff there.
